The UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree Law No. 45 of 2021 regarding the Protection of Personal Data is the legislation that provides a consolidated view on how confidentiality of information and how privacy of individuals in the UAE are protected. It provides a proper governance for data management and protection and defines the rights and duties of all parties concerned.
The law defines the controls for the processing of personal data and the general obligations of companies that have personal data to secure it and maintain its confidentiality and privacy. It prohibits the processing of personal data without the consent of its owner, except for some cases in which the processing is necessary to protect the public interest or to carry out any of the legal procedures and rights.
The law gives the owner of the data the right to request for corrections of inaccurate personal data and to restrict or stop the processing of his personal data and it sets out the requirements for the cross-border transfer and sharing of personal data for processing purposes.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following categories of third parties.
Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, data processors like Google and Facebook analytics, contractors, or agents (“third parties”) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Services. 6. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
Likewise, we may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Cookies are a small amount of data that is sent to the user’s browser and stored in the user’s computer hard drive. Only when the user uses his/her computer to access the Website can the Cookies be sent to the user’s computer hard drive. Cookies are frequently used to record the habits and preferences of visitors when they browse various items on the Website. Cookies collect anonymous collective statistics which do not contain personal data. 7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this policy document will require us to keep your information for longer than six months past the unsubscribe confirmation.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. The security measures that we may take include but are not limited to:

- Management measures: only authorized personnel will have the authority to access users' personal data. These designated staff members are required to adhere to our internal guidelines on maintaining the confidentiality of personal data.
Despite the above-mentioned protective measures, we cannot guarantee that the information transmitted via the Internet is absolutely safe, so we do not provide any guarantees with respect to the security of the personal information that the users provide to the Website; and Haqq Association may not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from or caused by any event that may occur in connection with unauthorized access to the users’ personal information.
Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the Profile and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your information. You may review, change, or terminate your subscription and related Profile at any time.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter: You can unsubscribe from our newsletter, marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS POLICY?" below. You will then be removed from the newsletter subscription lists and delete your Profile and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy.
12. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS POLICY?
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
